Workshop 3

Water Safety or Allergy Awarness

Our hands on workshops are designed for smaller groups and are delivered classroom by classroom, allowing every student to receive personalized instruction and guided practice. Each class receives three workshop visits, giving students time to build skills, ask questions, and gain genuine confidence in their ability to respond during an emergency.

These workshops teach essential, age appropriate lifesaving skills that empower students to stay calm, act quickly, and help others when it matters most. Our goal is to foster a school community where preparedness, awareness, and safety are second nature.

We currently offer a 3-Workshop Series, which includes:

  • How to recognize when someone needs CPR

  • The proper steps to take before beginning chest compressions

  • How to call for help and communicate with emergency responders

  • Correct hand placement, compression depth, and rhythm for adults, children, and infants

This session builds confidence and demystifies a lifesaving skill that every child can learn & empowers kids to be little lifesavers!

Workshop 2: The Heimlich Maneuver

In this workshop, students explore how to identify choking emergencies and respond safely and effectively. Using age appropriate demonstrations and practice tools, they will learn:

  • The signs of choking in both children and adults

  • When and how to perform abdominal thrusts

  • Situations where the technique should not be used

  • How to help themselves if they are choking and alone

  • The importance of staying calm and acting quickly

This training equips students with a powerful skill that can prevent tragedies.

Workshop 3: Water Safety Education or Allergy Awareness

Schools may choose one of the following focus areas:

Option A: Water Safety Education

Students learn how to stay safe at pools, beaches, lakes, and water parks. Topics include recognizing hazards, using life jackets properly, safe swimming rules, and what to do in an emergency. This workshop reinforces critical water safety concepts through interactive demonstrations and real-world scenarios.

Option B: Allergy Awareness

This version of the workshop focuses on understanding severe allergies, recognizing the signs of an allergic reaction, and knowing what steps to take in an emergency. Students also learn how to create an inclusive environment by being mindful and respectful of classmates who live with allergies.
